Puppy Class / Kindergarten Puppy Training (KPT)
KPT is a 6 week session of 1 hour long classes. Classes are held one day a week. KPT classes are structured for puppies as young as 8 weeks old, and must be completed by the time the puppy is 25 weeks of age. Focusing on early socialization and assisting new dog owners with challenges. Class start dates are assigned upon application receipt.
Beginner Class
Beginner's class is a 7 week long course for dogs 4 months of age and older. Class is held once a week for 1 hour. Beginner's focuses on commands like heel, sit, down, stand, stay, and come. Emphasis on obedience around distractions. Limited class size, and dogs must be house-broken.
Manners and More Level I
Manners and More class is a 10 week long course. It is a follow-up to Beginner class, and refines good manners and builds on basic skills. Emphasis on Canine Good Citizen test exercises. Focus on perfecting skills for an excellent family pet. CGC test included in the course.
Manners and More Level 2
Manners and More II is a 10 week long course. For M & M I graduates or those not interested in competition, this class sharpens obedience with marker training. Builds on M & M I skills, focusing on tricks, games, engagement, drive management, and impulse control. Aiming for confident, engaged companions, suitable for pet therapy preparation. Prerequisite: Stable stand and stay.
Manners Off Leash
Manners Off Leash is a 10 week long course. For M & M II graduates seeking advanced off-leash engagement, this class emphasizes reliable off-leash work in distracting environments. Dogs focus on human partners, maintaining commands in challenging circumstances. Prerequisites include off-leash heeling, recall, stand and stay, basic retrieving, cone work, and target training. Instructor approval required.
Foundations for Dog Sports
Foundations for Dog Sports is a 10 week long course. Are you interested in doing more with your dog, but not sure where to start. Do you have a puppy or new dog that you know you will want to compete with? The Foundation for Dog Sports class will be introduce your puppy or dog to various dog sports including: Competition Obedience, Agility, Freestyle, Tricks training, etc. This class will lay the foundation building blocks needed before moving into advanced training for any sport.
Intro To Competition Obedience Level I & Level II
Intro to Competition is a 10 week long course. For dogs 3+ months, Level I focuses on marker training, attention, heeling, positions, stays, recalls, fronts, and retrieving. Level II advances Novice exercises, teaching ring entry, transitions, setups, and introduces preliminary work for the retrieve exercise. Level II requires instructor evaluation and approval, preparing teams for Obedience competition.
Competition Novice, Open & Utility
Competition classes are scheduled as 10 week long courses.
Competition Novice, Open and Utility classes are continuous, ongoing classes and are open to both members and non-members who meet eligibility requirements. To find out when these classes are held see the Schedule. For more information, contact our Training Director.
Rally
Rally classes classes are scheduled as 10 week long courses. Rally classes, including Novice, Advanced/Excellent, and Masters, are ongoing and available to members and non-members meeting eligibility. Open to Beginners class graduates, each weekly class focuses on specific sign learning. Prerequisites include loose leash walking, sit and down commands for Novice, 6 Novice classes or RN title for Advanced/Excellent, and previous Rally titles for Masters.
Show Handling
Conformation Show Handling classes are scheduled as 10 week long courses. These lessons prepare you and your dog to compete in the ring and earn points toward your dog's championship title. Nosework
Nosework classes are scheduled as 10 week long courses. Based on detection dog training, Nose Work is the fun search and scenting activity for virtually all dogs and people. This easy to learn activity and sport builds confidence and focus in many dogs, and provides a safe way to keep dogs fit and healthy through mental and physical exercise.
